Barley is indeed one of the only plants on Earth that can be used to eat from birth to old age. In the hadiths, barley is very nutritious, useful in cough and gastritis, as well as urine drive and antioxidant agent. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) loved barley. The barley was the main food of our Prophet. But barleys were not available every day in their households. They used the barley as flour, bread, and sour cream. According to the hadith, our Prophet has never used flour. This should be a great lesson for us. Because we try to get high quality flours. However, the higher the flavor of the flour (ie, the more it is used), its richer vitamins and nutrients that are rich in minerals.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recited at least 20 barley powders in his speeches. They also mention the talbina meal. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) advised him to take sick and nurses: “Talbina calms the patient’s heart and refreshes himself, takes some sadness and sensual thoughts.” (al-Bukhari, 7, 71, 593).
Sahl ibn Sa’d said to the Prophet,
“Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) eat white bread?”
“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not see the pure white bread until he met Allah”.
“Did you have the time to do that in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)?”
“We did not have any.”
“How would you use unleavened barley?”
“We were puffing it up. What flies from it flies away. Then We would have wrapped him in the water and made him dwell. ”
Ahmad 5/332, al-Bukhari 5413, at-Termree 2364

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him)
“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to spend some nights hungry. His family did not find anything to eat in the evening. The bread they ate would have been more of barley bread. ”
At-Termizi 2360, Ahmad 1/255, 373,
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim says that it is necessary to extract five times as much water as it is needed to prepare the tincture of barley. It should be boiled until it is reduced from four to three. This milk mix is a great tool to relieve thirst.
